Belated; Went to the Frozen Pre-screening

Posted by Unknown Jumat, 29 November 2013 0 komentar
Oh gosh, I'm so behind;; I got the flu and blah!
I really should try getting back to blogging on a more regular schedule hopefully I'll be getting on that soon!

Anywho, like the title says~ I went to a Pre Screening of Frozen last week, I got the tickets as a birthday present so that was pretty awesome!

The even started at like, 9am?? But the first portion was a brunch with the princess but my friend and I missed it because we didn't want to wake up that early.

The event was really awesome, we got free popcorn and refreshments, special edition 3d glasses, a little magazine with cast interviews and free chocolate!
Before the show there was ice carving and a little introduction of the princess from Frozen.

The whole theater was decked out so wonderfully and they even had snow falling on us at one point and it was just really magical!

I really enjoyed Frozen, so much that I watched it opening day again and invested in the soundtrack!
The movie really reminds me of the Disney 'golden age', and was one of the best Disney movies I've seen maybe in the past 8 years~

[Not to mention, the cherry on top was Idina Menzel was in the cast, she was one of my favourite people back when I was in middle school...]

Eventually, I got to the point that I wanted to do a makeup to closely resemble Elsa, the Queen, who is my absolute favourite character!

My pretty makeup~

My take on 'hipster' disney princess Elsa~
Theeeen, this is the angle you're not supposed to see the makeup aka; look at all that contouring!
It's actually been awhile since I've done a makeup that is on the more challenging side, like changing my facial structure...

Yepp!

So, have you seen Frozen or are planning on it?

Instagram for Windows Phone Finally Arrives

Posted by Unknown Kamis, 28 November 2013 0 komentar
Is it worth the wait? After all, it has been a long time coming but Instagram has finally released a native app for Windows Phone. The long suffering of you out there that use Windows phones (sorry I’m an iPhone man myself), will finally be able to share pictures in new and interesting ways, just like the rest of us.  Well, kind of anyway.

The new Instagram app has most of the great features that iOS and Android users have come to appreciate. All the photo filters are there and you are able to see your feed, complete with all of your friend’s snaps and “heart” and comments too.  However, all is not rosey in the Instagram world as a few things are peculiarly absent.  The most important of which is the fact that the Windows app cannot take photos or upload video from within the app?
Windows users can still upload photos from their camera roll and Instagram for Windows Phone will launch the native camera app to take new photos.  Currently, there is no option for video, but apparently it is all in the pipeline. As Instagram has finally made the leap over to Windows Phone, we should all be grateful, even if the app is still ironing out the flaws.
For more information regarding the release, please check out the following release notes:
Over 150 million users love Instagram! It’s a simple way to capture and share the world’s moments on your Windows Phone.  Customize your photos with one of several gorgeous and custom built filter effects. Transform everyday moments into works of art you’ll want to share with friends and family.Share your photos in a simple photo stream with friends to see – and follow your friends’ photos with the click of a single button. Every day you open up Instagram, you’ll see new photos from your closest friends, and creative people from around the world.
Main Features Include:
100% free custom designed filters: XPro-II, Earlybird, Rise, Amaro, Hudson, Lo-fi, Sutro, Toaster, Brannan, Inkwell, Walden, Hefe, Nashville, 1977, and others.
Video recording with breathtaking cinematic stabilization
Linear and Radial Tilt-Shift blur effects for extra depth of field.

Welcome! The Black Friday

I have listed out what I need to buy and found out where have the biggest discount.I see most Android phone will have nice price, such as Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy 4, etc.
However, I don't intend to introduce some the back friday promotion for Android gadgets, while another important fitting. Thanks to the popular of Android phone, especially Samsung Galaxy series, we can see many problem about how to recover data from Samsung Galaxy phone.

What can cause photos, videos, contacts, text messages loss from Samsung Galaxy

Based on the description of the data loss "victims" on the web, we can list out some common reasons for Samsung Galaxy data loss:

*Have a phone reset or restore and everything gone.

* Music files missing in data transferring between your Android phone and PC or Mac machine.

* Formatted the removable media memory card (SD, CF, memory stick etc) equipped within the phone.

* Unable to read images, videos or music files in the gallery due to memory card error.

* When connecting Android phone (memory card) to PC, it says "the card is not formatted, would you like to format it now?"

* Accidentally press "delete" button on the phone and erased some photos or videos just taken with camera function.

……

So, when we are in above trouble, any way can help us restore lost data from Samsung Galaxy?

black friday promotion for android data recovery software

No backup! Only Android data recovery software can help you

Generally, we can get back lost Samsung Galaxy data such as photos, contacts, text messages, and call log from backup in Gmail account, Google+, or other backup and restore apps. However, when we have no backup, this way won't work. In this case, we need to use Android data recovery software.

(Note: when you use data recovery software to recover data from Android phone, you had better use your phone as less as possible, because those lost data may be still in the phone but just invisible. If you keep using the phone frequently, those lost data will be overwritten by new data that generate during daily using. Besides, most Android data recovery software just can recover contacts, text messages and call history from rooting phone.)

Here are the easy steps for Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Round data recovery:

Step 1: Install Android data recovery software to your computer, and shut down other Android managenment software to avoid incompatible.

Step 2: Then connect your Samsung Galaxy phone to computer and enabling USB debugging and storage in the phone is needed.

Step 3: At this moment, the recovery program must detect your phone, you just need to follow the guide from the program to get back your lost data.

New sign-in page for Google Apps customers (coming next year)

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar
Early next year, the sign-in page for all Google Apps customers will be updated to be consistent across all Google Apps services. In other words, the sign-in page for Gmail will now be identical to the sign-in page for Google Calendar, Google Drive, or any other Google Apps service. This change will improve security and make it easier for users to switch between accounts. This means a few things for your organization:

  • The Google Apps sign-in page can no longer be personalized with colors and custom logos. It will now look the same across all Google sign-in pages.
  • Users will have to log in with their full email address (example: joe@company.com)
  • For SSO domains with a network mask, users will be presented with the new Google sign-in page when they log in from outside the SSO network mask. This change does not affect SSO domains without a network mask.

We will be providing more details in the next few months so you can properly communicate this change to your end users. Stay tuned.

Microsoft sells over 1 million Xbox Ones in 24 hours

Posted by Unknown Minggu, 24 November 2013 0 komentar

The next-gen showdown continues as the Xbox One matches the PS4 with over a million sales in 24 hours

Earlier this month we reported that Sony’s PlayStation 4 had sold over 1 million units within the first 24 hours, now it’s confirmed that Microsoft have responded by achieving the same feat.
Microsoft has announced that the One is now sold out at most retailers after going on sale in 13 countries on Friday, 11 more however than its next-gen rival.
Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president of marketing and strategy for Xbox, said: "We are humbled and grateful for the excitement of Xbox fans around the world.
"Seeing thousands of excited fans lined up to get their Xbox One and their love for gaming was truly a special moment for everyone on the Xbox team.
"We are working hard to create more Xbox One consoles and look forward to fulfilling holiday gift wishes this season."

However the Xbox One has not been without problems with a majority of gamers complaining that their £429 consoles have been “bricked” – halted to a stop after downloading a day one update.

Gamers are complaining about an E100 error message which seemingly isn’t an easy fix.
When contacted by Sky News, a Microsoft spokesman was unable to say how many users have been affected. "If a user is experiencing a stall for more than 10 minutes when connecting to Xbox Live to take the day one update they should contact Xbox customer support and we will work with them to troubleshoot and get them up and running," he said.

Microsoft said that in the 24 hours after the Xbox One's launch, gamers killed over 60 million zombies in Dead Rising 3, drove more than 3.6 million miles in Forza Motorsport 5 and defeated 8.5 million foes in Ryse: Son of Rome.

You can expect both the new models to have the same buttons set and dual joysticks, so there is nothing new to learn there.  The Original MOGA controller did not include a D-Pad while the new Hero Power does. Android Headlines reviewed the Power Pro.
Lots of HID gamepad compatible games have landed on the play store and all of them work with both new MOGA controllers.  Power A has also improved Bluetooth radios to nullify any problems with Bluetooth connection.
Both the Power Pro and Hero Power come with built in batteries; the Power Pro rocks a 2200 mAH for longer gaming sessions, while the little brother sports a smaller 1800 mAH.  The Hero is designed for the more portable, on-the-go game play, while the Power Pro looks right at home next to an Xbox 360 controller.  You can pick up either the MOGA Hero Power or the Power Pro from Amazon. The MOGA Pro Power is on sale for $79, and the MOGA Hero Power is $59.  Game on!

Third-party apps now easier to find and more secure

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar
Starting today, administrators will be able to find, manage and deploy third-party applications directly from the Google Apps Admin console. To start, over twenty third-party applications will be available in the Admin console. These applications all offer the latest OAuth 2.0 security, single sign-on (SSO), and integration with Google services. Applications with OAuth 2.0 allow admins can deploy them to specific people or organizational units (rather than the entire company) and developers can design apps to request more narrow access to corporate information.

Microsoft Surface Smartphone To Come Soon

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar
It has been confirmed that Microsoft is working on its own branded Windows phone. This confirmation comes two months after the company acquired Nokia for $7.2 billion.
A senior executive at Microsoft said that part of the company’s strategy is to become a devices and services company but so far there has been no mention of a launch date.
Director of the Windows Phone Business Group, Microsoft Corporation, Vineet Durani said, “We are waiting for regulatory clearances on the Nokia deal to merge the devices and hardware business, with Microsoft’s software business. The Microsoft-branded phone is under review, but in the meanwhile we continue to work with our partners like Huawei, Samsung and HTC for Windows OS handsets.”
Microsoft Handset

It has been reported that as part of the deal between Nokia and Samsung, the name “Nokia” moves over to Microsoft for mobile use for ten years, as well as the Lumia and Asha brands. It was even hinted that Lumia handsets would not carry the Nokia brand tag in the future.
Anshul Gupta, principle research analyst at Gartner said that few have succeeded in beating Samsung and Apple when it comes to the handset market. So will Microsoft be able to succeed where Nokia failed?
“While it is difficult to comment on how Microsoft would perform with its own branded handset, considering that we haven’t seen much  from them as a hardware player. By taking over Nokia, they will gain the device assets and manufacturing capabilities of an experienced global player, that puts them on par with other global players, and therefore in a better place than they were earlier,” said Gupta.

How to Make your Own USB On-The-Go (OTG) cable.

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar
In order for your Android phone or tablet to host a USB device such as an Arduino, you need a USB On-The-Go (OTG) cable. You can buy these for a few bucks online, but if you have old USB cables around it’s more fun to make one!

Step 1:
Make Your Own USB On-The-Go (OTG) Cable
Make Your Own USB On-The-Go (OTG) CableMake Your Own USB On-The-Go (OTG) Cable

  • All you need are two donor USB cables, one with a female type A end like you’d find on a USB extension cable (shown in the first photo here) and one with a male micro B end (second photo). When you’re finished, you’ll have a cable that plugs into your phone on one side and accepts a standard USB cable on the other.
  • First, cut your 2 donor cables to expose the red, black, white, and green wires within, and strip the insulation off the tips.
  • Match up the wire colors from both sides of your soon-to-be Frankencable and solder them together. Insulate the soldered joints from each other using shrink tubing, electrical tape, or hot glue. Don’t forget to connect the braided shielding as well — that’s the uninsulated stranded wire that surrounds the 4 colored wires.
Step 2:
Make Your Own USB On-The-Go (OTG) Cable
  • After splicing the 2 cables together, wrap the junction in electrical tape for protection and strain relief.
  • Many Android phones are USB On-The-Go devices, which means they can act as the USB host (providing power) or slave (receiving power). You want the phone to be the USB host for this project, and you can ensure it acts as such by means of a special Sense pin on the micro B connector.
  • When the sense pin is connected to ground, the USB OTG device attached to the cable enters host mode. If the sense pin is left in its usual disconnected state, the USB OTG device will remain in slave mode.
Step 3:
Make Your Own USB On-The-Go (OTG) CableMake Your Own USB On-The-Go (OTG) CableMake Your Own USB On-The-Go (OTG) CableMake Your Own USB On-The-Go (OTG) Cable

  • Carefully cut open the micro B end of your spliced cable and solder pins 4 and 5 together as shown in the diagram. Be careful not to bridge any other connections besides pin 4 and 5!
  • Once that’s done, reassemble the micro B plug and tape or glue it back together to complete your cable.
Step 4:
Make Your Own USB On-The-Go (OTG) Cable
  • You can run a quick test of your cable by connecting one end to your Android phone and the other into Arduino.
  • If all is well, the Arduino should power up! If not, unplug both ends of your cable and check for short circuits or loose connections.
  • Note that you won’t be able to test the data connection until you get some code on both the phone and the microcontroller.
